AI at ArchiCompass

1. Why we are publishing this information

ArchiCompass uses artificial intelligence solutions as tools to support the User in organising inspiration, preparing a Design Brief, building a portfolio, and finding Designers who meet specific needs.

This page explains:

* where ArchiCompass uses AI;

* what data may be analysed;

* what AI does not do;

* how we maintain human oversight;

* what the limitations of the technology are;

* how we protect data;

* how to report issues regarding the operation of AI functions.

ArchiCompass designs and uses AI functions in compliance with relevant legal requirements, including Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 – the AI Act, the GDPR, and consumer protection regulations.

2. Where we use AI

AI Project Compass

AI may support the analysis of:

* inspiration photos;

* stylistic preferences;

* type of investment;

* nature of the space;

* declared User needs;

* other information provided during the creation of the Brief.

On this basis, AI may assist in preparing, among other things:

* a description of the preferred style;

* interior characteristics;

* a colour palette;

* material directions;

* visual features;

* tips for the Design Brief;

* other information helpful during a conversation with a Designer.

AI Portfolio Assistant

A Designer or Studio can provide the address of a portfolio website or upload photos directly. The feature can retrieve publicly available material from the supplied website or analyse uploaded files, group them into proposed projects, and prepare a draft profile and descriptions.

An import first enters a private workspace. The Designer reviews, edits, rejects, or selects elements for publication. Nothing from an import is published automatically.

3. Matching Designers

ArchiCompass may use the data contained in the Brief and other project parameters to indicate Designers who may meet the Client's needs.

Matching may take into account, in particular:

* style;

* project type and scale;

* service scope;

* location or work mode;

* budget;

* availability;

* information available in public Designer Profiles and Portfolios, including the number of published projects.

AI may assist in interpreting certain information, e.g., stylistic features resulting from inspiration.

The result of the Matching is of a recommendatory nature. ArchiCompass does not publish ranking weights, thresholds, or the detailed formula.

ArchiCompass does not select a Designer for the Client.

4. Humans maintain control

The User independently decides:

* whether to launch the AI analysis;

* which photos to upload;

* whether to save the result;

* what information will be included in the Brief;

* whether to send an Enquiry;

* which Designer to approach;

* whether to commence cooperation.

A Designer using AI Portfolio Assistant independently selects the materials, can edit or remove a draft, and decides whether and which approved content to publish.

The Designer is independently responsible for their offer, advice, design, and the execution of services.

AI does not enter into a Design Agreement on behalf of the User or the Designer.

5. How to recognise an AI function

Functions and results directly generated or significantly supported by AI are marked in the interface with appropriate information, e.g.:

"Analysis supported by AI"

or

"Result generated using AI".

If the User is directly using an AI function, ArchiCompass informs them of this in a visible manner in the context of the given functionality. Before starting AI Portfolio Assistant, the User also sees a link to this page and confirms rights or appropriate permissions for the materials.

The AI Act requires informing a person of direct interaction with AI in appropriate cases.

6. Information before photo analysis

Reference photos are not automatically sent to the AI model.

The transfer takes place only after the User consciously launches the analysis function.

Before starting the analysis, the User receives information that the selected materials will be transferred to an external AI technology provider.

In a single request, AI Project Compass currently analyses a maximum of six photos. In AI Portfolio Assistant, analysis starts only after the Designer starts an import; it can include the supplied website address, publicly available material retrieved from it, or manually uploaded files.

7. What information may be transferred to AI

Depending on the functionality used, this may include:

* selected photos;

* a supplied website address and publicly available material retrieved from it as part of an import;

* type of investment;

* selected stylistic direction;

* visual features;

* information regarding the project;

* other data and metadata necessary to prepare the result.

ArchiCompass does not transfer login data or phone numbers as part of the standard AI Project Compass photo analysis.

The User should not upload:

* identity documents;

* payment card data;

* confidential documents;

* special category data;

* photos of people, if their use is not necessary or the User does not have a basis for their processing.

8. AI technology providers

Depending on the feature started, ArchiCompass uses Gemini or OpenAI model APIs on the server side. AI Portfolio Assistant currently uses a server-configured Gemini integration, while AI Project Compass may use OpenAI or Gemini depending on server configuration.

The provider or configuration may change as technology develops. API keys remain on the server side and are not sent to the browser. In that case, ArchiCompass will update the information for Users before, or at the latest together with, the implementation of the change.

Information regarding current providers, the processing of personal data, and any potential data transfers is described in the Privacy Policy.

ArchiCompass does not use Users' private photos as a public content database and does not state that it trains its own model on supplied material.

9. AI limitations

AI systems use statistical models and may:

* misinterpret a photo;

* fail to recognise an important element;

* generate incomplete information;

* propose a solution that is impossible to execute;

* present a result that does not correspond to all of the User's preferences;

* generate similar results for different Users;

* incorrectly group materials or propose portfolio descriptions or metadata.

The AI result should be treated as a starting point for further work, and not as a guaranteed professional assessment.

10. AI does not replace a professional

AI functions in ArchiCompass do not constitute:

* an architectural design;

* an executive design;

* technical documentation;

* structural expertise;

* a cost estimate;

* legal advice;

* tax advice;

* financial advice;

* an assessment of compliance with building regulations;

* a guarantee of investment feasibility.

Before implementing a project, important information should be verified with an appropriate specialist.

11. No automated decisions with significant effects

ArchiCompass does not use AI Project Compass, AI Portfolio Assistant, or the Matching mechanism to make decisions towards the User that produce legal effects or similarly significantly affect them solely through automated processing.

Final decisions belong to the Users.

12. Prohibited and undesirable uses

ArchiCompass does not design its AI functions for the purpose of:

* recognising protected characteristics of a person based on appearance;

* assessing the value or credibility of a human;

* social scoring;

* manipulating the User;

* exploiting the vulnerabilities of children or particularly vulnerable persons;

* biometric identification of persons;

* drawing conclusions regarding health, sexual orientation, political views, or other special characteristics of a person.

The analysis is intended to concern interiors, inspiration, portfolios, and design needs.

13. Security and monitoring

ArchiCompass may monitor:

* reported errors;

* unexpected results;

* security issues;

* changes in performance quality;

* the impact of model or prompt updates.

If necessary, we may:

* change system instructions;

* restrict a function;

* change a model or provider;

* add security measures;

* temporarily disable a function.

14. Reporting issues

If an AI result:

* is evidently incorrect;

* contains inappropriate content;

* appears discriminatory;

* violates privacy;

* causes other objections,

In the report, it is helpful to provide the name of the function, the approximate time of its use, and a description of the problem.
